Interactions & Effects
Hover interactions.
Design dynamic web experiences by adding a variety of interactions to any element on hover. Customize the interaction settings for every breakpoint, from transform adjustment to advanced design capabilities and timing control.
Adding interactions.
To add interactions to an element, you need to apply them to its parent container. Select the container, and from the Inspector panel, select the interactions tab, then click Add Hover Interaction.

Using a preset.
Open the dropdown menu to choose from a wide selection of preset Transitions including Grow, Skew, Float and more. Once you select a transition, you can set the Duration, choose an Easing type and click the play icon to see it in action.
*Preset transitions are not available for entire sections.

Custom interactions.
If you want to create your own interaction, select Custom Interactions. You can set up a custom interaction for each individual element within the container.

Initial & hover states.
To set up an interaction, you need to define what your element will look like in its Initial and Hover state. The Initial state is what you see immediately after the site loads. The Hover state is what you see when the mouse hovers over the element.
From the floating action bar, use the dropdown to select the interaction state you want to edit.
*By default, a non-edited state will show the element as it currently appears on your canvas.

Adjusting transforms.
From the interactions tab, under Adjust, you can edit the element’s appearance and transform properties. Change the element’s Opacity, Rotate it, and set the Scale, Skew, and Translate values in the relevant units of measure.

Designing interactions.
You can also customize an element’s design in hover state. Depending on the type of element you select, under Design you can edit the color, style, contour, border and more.

Duration & easing.
Once you set up an interaction, you can use the timing panel to set up the Duration and Easing type. From the floating action bar, select Timing. The timing panel will include all of the interactions set up within the container. To control the Duration, set a start and end time. Next, choose an Easing type to define how the interaction will flow in its current state. Select Done from the floating action bar to save your changes.

Reviewing interactions.
When creating custom interactions, select Play from the floating action bar to see your interaction—well, in action. When using a preset transition, the play button will appear on the bottom right of the interactions tab. This is a great way to preview your interaction while you’re still in edit mode.

Interactions & breakpoints.
By default, hover interactions will automatically convert to on-tap interactions on tablet and mobile breakpoints. You can still optimize an element’s interaction for every screen size. Just keep in mind that interactions follow the cascading rule, meaning changes you make to the interaction on one breakpoint will reflect on smaller breakpoints, but not the other way around.

Deleting interactions.
To delete an interaction, use the trash icon on the top right of the interaction panel. Deleting an interaction will remove it from your site entirely across all breakpoints. However, any adjustments made to an element in its Initial state will have to be reset manually.
